Apollo is amazing! We rescued him via our South L.A. intervention program. He had a tumor on his head and a broken jaw. He just had a dental and is feeling great. Boo is an adorable small mixed-breed pup who’s had quite the glow-up since arriving at the sanctuary. Since settling in, Boo has met plenty of dogs and has even been spending his days with two younger, high-energy pals, Candy and Baxter. Despite their playful antics, Boo doesn’t mind their energy one bit. While he’s not the most playful pup himself, he’s slowly discovering the fun of toys and learning how to enjoy them at his own pace. Boo’s favorite things? Canelo is a very happy little chihuahua/terrier mix we rescued from the San Bernardino shelter. He was very sick when we saved him back in September and was hospitalized with pneumonia and distemper. As a side effect of distemper, he does have a tremor sometimes. He will likely have that his whole life, but he is healthy and doing well. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. We took in 6 dogs from homeless encampment in San Bernardino in February. We named them after The Outsiders - Darrell, Ponyboy, Sodapop, Cherry, Dallas, and Sandy. Eleanor was intercepted via our San Bernardino intervention program. She had a large mass on the top of her head and she was very matted. She had surgery to remove the mass, which was benign. Eleanor is a lovely dog. She is very sweet and she enjoys wearing sweaters. She is also good with other dogs. She is very easy-going. She is 10 years old and weighs 23 lbs. We rescued this 3 year old cutie from the Castaic shelter and he has been an absolute gem since being in our care. Finbark is so excited to be here and it’s been impossible for all of us not to instantly fall in love. We feel that he is a wonderfully balanced dog that could really fit in to any number of homes and lifestyles. Hades is a calm, confident dog. Hades loves attention and treats, and will happily wag his tiny tail at the sight of you. He enjoys being around people but can be reactive around other animals, so would be best suited to stay at home getting all the attention there where he would love to play fetch and tug-o-war all day long. Hades has completed 4 weeks in a training facility but would benefit from continued training because of his large, powerful size. Hades would do best in a home with an active family or person and will require a home with high fencing as he can jump over most standard fences. Halston is a 3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a big heart and even bigger smile. He loves people and won’t hesitate to hop up for some kisses and attention. Hemmet is a large, loveable pup that will cuddle in your lap if you let him. He does have a birth defect that caused a spinal malformation which caused a slight compression of his spinal cord. Despite this, Hemmet is a sweet and silly boy who enjoys his daily walks with staff, time in the yard and going to his weekly physical therapy appointments where he does underwater treadmill. He will need some training during his transition to home life, but he will make sure to fill your whole world with fun and love. Ike was one of 16 dogs we rescued from San Bernardino in September. When we saved him, he was extremely sick with pneumonia and spent time in the hospital. He is now healthy and very happy. Junie is a sweet senior lady with a soft heart. Surrendered by her previous owner, she may be blind and partially deaf, but she navigates the world just fine. She enjoys her daily walks and keeps a steady pace, proving that age and disability don't slow down her spirit. Junie does have a heart murmur, but it doesn’t require medication at this time. What she does need is a compassionate, patient adopter familiar with blind dog care—someone who can offer her the safety, love, and stability she deserves in her golden years. She may take a little time to adjust, but once she feels safe, she’ll warm your heart with her sweet demeanor.

Marvin is a sweet, mellow little guy who just wants a cozy lap and a kind heart to call his own. We rescued him from the San Bernardino Shelter, where he arrived as a stray with a few wounds, including a painful foxtail embedded in his paw. Since then, he’s healed up beautifully and is ready for the next chapter of his life. Marvin can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he melts into affection and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company. Like many dogs with a rough start, Marvin is still learning to feel fully secure. He can be sensitive around high-value items and may guard them, which is something a patient adopter can work on with the support of a positive-reinforcement trainer. Because of this, Marvin would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to learn how to support him as he continues to build confidence. He has a bite history, which we’re happy to discuss in more detail with interested adopters — transparency is important to us, and we believe Marvin deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs. He’s also managing some skin allergies and is on medication that’s been helping him feel much more comfortable. Marvin is a good boy who’s come a long way. He just needs the right match — someone kind, patient, and ready to let him shine.

Meet Mr. Waffles, our 4 year old terrier! Waffles enjoys spending his days in one of our yards playing with all of his favorite toys. He'll even come up to you and show off his most prized toys with a happy smile and wagging tail. Waffles also loves to play with water and to jump in our pool for his daily swim in the warmer months. He also knows several commands like sit, down, and paw. He is very treat and toy motivated and very smart so training him to do nearly anything should be a breeze! Meet Tajin! Tajin is the product of the recent LA fires when a community member found a pregnant dog running loose and kindly took her in. Shortly thereafter, she gave birth and we were able to take in Tajin and her two siblings, Chimi and Taquito. Tajin is a squeaky toy enthusiast who loves being around people and wrestling her siblings or her friend Charles the pug. She does great with other dogs with proper introductions and would do well in a home where she can play and run around to her heart's content. Recently, we have taught Tajin to swim and she is absolutely loving it! Anytime we have warm weather, we take her to our pool and she loves to run and dive in to catch and retrieve her toys. Taquito is the product of the recent LA fires when a community member found a pregnant dog running loose and kindly took her in. Shortly thereafter, she birth and we were able to take in Taquito and his two sisters, Chimi and Tajin. Taquito is the biggest goofball with a gentle demeanor, a gorgeous red and white coat, and the cutest little underbite. He loves to run around the yard and chase his sisters and other doggie friends around when he's not coming up to you for pets. Recently, we have taught Taquito to swim to he has loved making a dip in the pool part of his daily activities. Tater Tot was rescued via our San Bernardino intervention program. He was dropped accidentally and his leg was broken. His owner could no longer care for him so we took him in. He had surgery to repair his leg and now doing great. He is very playful and energetic and he loves toys. He is very sweet and always eager for love and attention. He is a 15 week old chihuahua mix. Vinny is a very sweet and energetic 1y/o Chihuahua mix who was found with his head stuck in a storm drain. Good samaritans took him to the Lancaster Shelter where we rescued him and got him assessed for any potential injuries, which he amazingly didn't have! He was given a clean bill of health and is now ready to find his forever home! He is currently being treated for a minor upper respiratory infection, but will be ready to go home as soon as he is better. Vinny loves to play and go on walks and he really loves treats. Wylie is an adorable boy who we rescued from the very crowded San Bernardino Shelter where he was in a kennel with 11 other dogs. He is very friendly and sweet. He gets overwhelmed by children and should be in an adult-only home. He tends to attach himself to a single person in the home and can sometimes be possessive of them. For this reason, we feel that he would thrive in a single adult home. He is very cuddly and easy-going. He likes to play and roll over for belly rubs. He does well with other dogs, as well as cats.
