Meet Canicas, a sweet and smart pup rescued through our San Bernardino Intervention Program. Canicas had a rough start — he had ingested numerous foxtails that became lodged in his mouth, leading to a serious infection. After undergoing a dental procedure with 33 extractions, he's now fully recovered and ready to find his forever home! Canicas is a playful, curious, and incredibly friendly dog who loves to interact with both people and other animals. He gets along well with other dogs and even cats, making him an excellent addition to any household. His name, "Canicas," means "Marbles" in English, and he comes from a Spanish-speaking home, so he understands Spanish commands — a fun little quirk that makes him even more unique! Canicas is sure to be a loving, loyal companion who will bring joy and fun to any family.

Meet Charles, a spirited pug who, despite losing an eye to a traumatic injury, has made a full recovery and is now thriving with joy. Chip is a quiet, gentle soul with a heart full of potential. We rescued Chip from a hoarding situation, and while he's still learning to trust people, he's come a long way with the love and care he's receiving at our rescue. Chip is a low-maintenance guy who enjoys the simple things in life — like lounging on the couch and hanging out with his favorite people. He truly lights up around other dogs, and we believe he’d thrive in a home with a calm, confident canine companion to help him feel safe and secure. He’s still shy with new people, but we’re slowly introducing him to new volunteers and celebrating each step of progress he makes. Cookie is a wonderful, friendly 4 year old Frenchie we rescued through our San Bernardino intervention program. She loves other dogs, children, and getting cuddles. She loves playing fetch and is a very fun and affecionate dog. She was brought into the San Bernardino shelter as a stray in July. She was very pregnant and the stress of the shelter environment - already hard on any animal - was especially concerning for an expectant mother. She was showing signs of active labor and distress. We rescued her and rushed her to the ER where she underwent a cesarean section. Unfortunately, her puppies were underdeveloped and did not survive. Cookie experienced significant post-operative complications and needed a blood transfusion, a second surgery, and continued critical care. She then recovered in a loving foster home. She is now doing amazing and is healthy and happy. She is ready for adoption and deserves the absolute best home. She has sectoral heterochromia, which is a lack of pigment, on her eye. Because she’s Merle she's got a little bit of a blue eye. It does not affect her vision.

Meet Cosmo! This precious little chihuahua terrier mix loves to play and is the perfect lap dog. He came to us from the Castaic shelter with a case of pneumonia and giardia but has finished his treatment and is in perfect health now. He gives the best cuddles to staff and volunteers and does great with other friendly dogs, big or small. Sometimes you can even catch him rocking a cute sweater along with his iconic white mohawk. Diego is a very friendly and adorable boy. We rescued him through our San Bernardino Intervention Program. He loves to go on walks and is very confident and curious.

Hades is a calm, confident dog. Hades loves attention and treats, and will happily wag his tiny tail at the sight of you. He enjoys being around people but can be reactive around other animals, so would be best suited to stay at home getting all the attention there where he would love to play fetch and tug-o-war all day long. Hades has completed 4 weeks in a training facility but would benefit from continued training because of his large, powerful size. Hades would do best in a home with an active family or person and will require a home with high fencing as he can jump over most standard fences. Hades must also be the only pet in the home- no cats or dogs. Halston is a 3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a big heart and even bigger smile. He loves people and won’t hesitate to hop up for some kisses and attention. Halston does well with other dogs when given proper introductions and would thrive in a home ready to help him keep building confidence. He will require some basic training in a home. Hemmet is a large, loveable pup that will cuddle in your lap if you let him. He does have a birth defect that caused a spinal malformation which caused a slight compression of his spinal cord. Despite this, Hemmet is a sweet and silly boy who enjoys his daily walks with staff, time in the yard and going to his weekly physical therapy appointments where he does underwater treadmill. He will need some training during his transition to home life, but he will make sure to fill your whole world with fun and love. Huxley is a handsome French bulldog we rescued via our San Bernardino Intervention program after he was found running down the highway. His eye was badly injured and needed to be removed. He is all recovered from that and is doing amazing. Huxley is a dreamboat and a terrible flirt. He has a big personality and is a lot of fun. He is 5 years old and 24 lbs. Jude is a smart girl with lots of love to give! She enjoys spending her day playing with other dogs and plenty of toys. She would do best in a home with an active family. Junie is a very sweet senior lady who was surrendered by her owner. She is blind and partly deaf but gets around really well. She likes to go on her daily walks and keeps a good and steady pace. She needs an owner who is familiar with blind dog care and can be patient with her in a home. She has a heart murmur but does not need heart medication at this time. She is ready to find a home in which to spend her golden years.

Marvin is a sweet, mellow little guy who just wants a cozy lap and a kind heart to call his own. We rescued him from the San Bernardino Shelter, where he arrived as a stray with a few wounds, including a painful foxtail embedded in his paw. Since then, he’s healed up beautifully and is ready for the next chapter of his life. Marvin can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he melts into affection and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company. Like many dogs with a rough start, Marvin is still learning to feel fully secure. He can be sensitive around high-value items and may guard them, which is something a patient adopter can work on with the support of a positive-reinforcement trainer. Because of this, Marvin would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to learn how to support him as he continues to build confidence. He has a bite history, which we’re happy to discuss in more detail with interested adopters — transparency is important to us, and we believe Marvin deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs. He’s also managing some skin allergies and is on medication that’s been helping him feel much more comfortable. Marvin is a good boy who’s come a long way. He just needs the right match — someone kind, patient, and ready to let him shine.

Meet Mr. Waffles, our 4 year old terrier! Waffles enjoys spending his days in one of our yards chasing around critters or playing with all of his favorite toys. He'll even come up to you and show off his most prized toys with a happy smile and fast wagging tail. Waffles also loves to play with water from our hose or the splash pad, but most of all, he loves to jump in our pool for his daily swim in the warmer months. He also knows several commands like sit, down, and paw. He is very treat and toy motivated and very smart so training him to do nearly anything should be a breeze! Mr. Waffles is definitely a high energy dog that will require a family that can keep up by either playing with him in the yard, going swimming, or frequent walks. Mr. Waffles can be a bit reactive on a leash when he sees other dogs and would do best as the only pet in the home. Say hello to our handsome Pocoyo. Since arriving at the ranch and getting his makeover, Pocoyo has been such a pleasure to work and spend time with. He is a mild mannered fellow that gets along with every dog of every size and person we have introduced him to so we know he would do great in a home with pretty much anyone. Every morning we open his kennel door and he bounces down the hallway with the excitement of a puppy until he gets to his resting spot and curls up for a little rest. He's always so happy to see all the staff and volunteers and brings smiles to all of our faces. Pocoyo has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and murmur so he will require daily medication but he takes it in his food without issue like the champ that he is. Since starting the heart medication, we have seen a 180 degree difference in his attitude, energy, and he couldn't be doing better so don't let this deter you from meeting this incredible boy. Shortly thereafter, she gave birth and we were able to take in Tajin and her two siblings, Chimi and Taquito. Tajin is a squeaky toy enthusiast who loves being around people and wrestling her siblings or her friend Charles the pug. She does great with other dogs with proper introductions and would do well in a home where she can play and run around to her heart's content. Recently, we have taught Tajin to swim and she is absolutely loving it! Anytime we have warm weather, we take her to our pool and she loves to run and dive in to catch and retrieve her toys.
