Annual Pop-Up Estate Sale — Santa Monica

Two floors of
donated antiques.
Every dollar
saves an animal.

A pop-up shop, open a few months a year. Nothing here was bought for resale. It was given — by people clearing a home, an estate, a lifetime of collecting. One hundred percent of what we take in funds animal rescue.

What’s inside

Estate pieces, not reproductions.

Everything comes directly out of private homes rather than a wholesaler, so the pieces are genuine period items. Because it’s a pop-up, the stock is finite and turns over continuously — regulars shop it weekly rather than once.

Where the money goes

She takes the ones nobody else will.

In 1974, Gillian Lange lost her Saint Bernard, Bonnie. She started visiting Los Angeles city and county shelters and pulling animals out. She founded the Amanda Foundation in 1975 and the Lange Foundation in 1993, and she has gone back to those shelters every week since.

From day one the philosophy has been to take the animals with the least chance of being adopted or rescued by anyone else: animals with serious medical needs, animals with behavioral histories, and seniors passed over for their age. The ones that wait longest and cost the most.

This sale is the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year. It is how that work gets paid for.

Everything on these two floors was given by someone who wanted it to matter.

A rescue that opens its books.

The Lange Foundation publishes audited financials and its Form 990, and holds top independent ratings for transparency and effectiveness. Every dollar the sale takes in goes back into the animals.

Before you come

First time here?

Is it open to the public?
Yes. Anyone can walk in, there is no appointment and no admission charge.
How often does the stock change?
Donations arrive daily. What is on the floor Wednesday is often gone by Sunday, which is why regulars come back weekly.
Where do I park?
There is a free lot behind the building, plus metered parking on Santa Monica Blvd.
Can I get furniture home?
We will help you load a car. For larger pieces bring a truck or arrange your own delivery, and we can hold an item while you sort it out.
Do you take card?
Yes. Ask a staff member on the floor if you have a question about a specific piece or its price.
I am buying for a shop or a production.
Say so when you arrive. We can accommodate volume purchases, hold items, and tell you what tends to come in.

The pop-up is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Free admission, no appointment needed.

Parking is easy. There’s a free lot behind the building, plus metered parking on Santa Monica Blvd.

When it's gone, it's gone.

This is a pop-up, not a store. Everything in it is one of one, and when the doors close the sale does not return until next year.
