Boo is an adorable small mixed-breed pup who’s had quite the glow-up since arriving at the sanctuary. Since settling in, Boo has met plenty of dogs and typically gets along well with other canines after proper introductions. Even when hanging around with our higher energy dogs, Boo doesn’t mind their energy one bit. While he’s not the most playful pup himself, he’s slowly discovering the fun of toys and learning how to enjoy them at his own pace. Boo’s favorite things? Lounging and sunbathing in front of a warm window, going on walks where he proudly trots like a little pony, and curling up in your lap for pets and scratches. Hi I'm Carmela! I came to the ranch with my 6 brothers and sister and now I'm ready to find my forever home! In February, we took in 6 dogs from homeless encampment in San Bernardino. We named them after The Outsiders - Darrell, Ponyboy, Sodapop, Cherry, Dallas, and Sandy. Cherry is very sweet but can be a little shy at first. She is great with other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog she can play with so they can tire each other out. She loves to play fetch and run around. She is very energetic and needs a lot of exercise. She loves going on walks and on adventures. She is the perfect size to take with you everywhere you go. Dobby is a happy and loving 2 year old boy who we rescued from the Lancaster shelter. He was turned in as a stray and was very underweight and scared. We are working on getting some weight on him, but he is overall very healthy. He loves people and is shy around new dogs but warms up quickly. He would love to find a home where he can follow around his favorite people, play fetch and cuddle all day. He would do best in a home with no cats. He weighs about 12 lbs. Ghost is an extremely handsome and sweet Frenchie who was rescued from the Lancaster Shelter. He loves to cuddle and he has a lot of energy and can jump very high. His favorite games are tug of war and fetch. He walks really well on leash and likes other dogs. He has a lot of energy and needs an active owner who has plenty of time to spend with him. He would love a home with a yard so he can run around and play fetch often. He has sensitive skin that the vet attributes to allergies (likely environmental) and sun exposure. Hades is a calm, confident dog. Hades loves attention and treats, and will happily wag his tiny tail at the sight of you. He enjoys being around people but can be reactive around other animals, so would be best suited to stay at home getting all the attention there where he would love to play fetch and tug-o-war all day long. Hades has completed 4 weeks in a training facility but would benefit from continued training because of his large, powerful size. Hades would do best in a home with an active family or person and will require a home with high fencing as he can jump over most standard fences. Hades must also be the only pet in the home- no cats or dogs. Halston is a 3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a big heart and even bigger smile. He loves people and won’t hesitate to hop up for some kisses and attention. Hemmet is a large, loveable pup that will cuddle in your lap if you let him. He does have a birth defect that caused a spinal malformation which caused a slight compression of his spinal cord. Despite this, Hemmet is a sweet and silly boy who enjoys his daily walks with staff, time in the yard and going to his weekly physical therapy appointments where he does underwater treadmill. He will need some training during his transition to home life, but he will make sure to fill your whole world with fun and love. Levi is 6 months old and is a very friendly and active puppy. He loves to cuddle and play. He has a lot of energy and rarely sits still. When he does, he enjoys burrowing under his blankets on his bed. He was raised in a loving foster home so he is very social and loves people and other dogs. Lucas is a sweet 8 year old boy we rescued from the South LA Shelter. He loves going on walks and he is fine with other dogs. Mango is amazing! He is a cute and tiny twelve-year-old Pomeranian mix we rescued from the San Bernardino shelter. He had horrible dental disease so he has had most of his teeth removed and his tongue sticks out, making him even cuter. He is friendly, fun, and good with other dogs. Marvin is a sweet, mellow little guy who just wants a cozy lap and a kind heart to call his own. We rescued him from the San Bernardino Shelter, where he arrived as a stray with a few wounds, including a painful foxtail embedded in his paw. Since then, he’s healed up beautifully and is ready for the next chapter of his life. Marvin can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he melts into affection and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company. Like many dogs with a rough start, Marvin is still learning to feel fully secure. He can be sensitive around high-value items and may guard them, which is something a patient adopter can work on with the support of a positive-reinforcement trainer. Because of this, Marvin would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to learn how to support him as he continues to build confidence. He has a bite history, which we’re happy to discuss in more detail with interested adopters — transparency is important to us, and we believe Marvin deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs. He’s also managing some skin allergies and is on medication that’s been helping him feel much more comfortable. Marvin is a good boy who’s come a long way. He just needs the right match — someone kind, patient, and ready to let him shine.

Meet Mr. Waffles, our 5 year old terrier! Waffles enjoys spending his days in one of our yards playing with all of his favorite toys. He'll even come up to you and show off his most prized toys with a happy smile and wagging tail. Waffles also loves to play with water and to jump in our pool for his daily swim in the warmer months. He also knows several commands like sit, down, and paw. He is very treat and toy motivated and very smart so training him to do nearly anything should be a breeze! Mr. Waffles is definitely a high energy dog that will require a family that can keep up by either playing with him in the yard, going swimming, or frequent walks and activities. Mr. Waffles can be a bit reactive on a leash when he sees other dogs but has been making great strides the past few months with making new dog friends. Muddy Buddy is an active and happy-go-lucky 4 year old boy. He is very friendly and outgoing. He loves playing with his toys and going on long walks. He loves cuddling and being pet. Pierogi and his siblings and their father were found in a hole in an alley in San Bernardino. They were covered in fleas and ticks and very anemic. We rescued them and got them all cleaned up and healthy and now they are ready for adoption. Pierogi is a very sweet boy but is also very shy. He needs to be in a home with another dog to help him feel comfortable. He is a gentle soul who loves being held and pet. He likes laying in his bed with his toys. Punky is truly the best! We rescued this sweet girl, along with several others, from a breeding situation and she’s been winning hearts ever since. With her big, lovable presence and goofy charm, Punky is the perfect mix of gentle and playful. Though she may look a little tough, Punky is a total softie. Reina is a total sweetheart. We rescued her from the San Bernardino Shelter. She had been mauled by dogs and had a broken leg. She is now fully healed and getting used to walking on it and building up her strength. She has been good with the other dogs here and is very friendly. She thinks she is a lap dog and will immediately lay in your lap when you sit with her in the grass. She loves belly rubs and toys. She has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. She is about 42 lbs and always very happy! She deserves the very best home.

Romeo was adopted from St. Bonnie's as a puppy in 2013 and spent the next 13 years in a home we hoped would be his forever. Then, at the beginning of June, he was found as a stray and brought to West Valley Animal Shelter. After two weeks with no owner coming forward, we welcomed him back to the place where his journey began. Despite everything he's been through, Romeo hasn't let these circumstance bring him down. He instantly settled into ranch life, making friends with dogs, cats, and everyone he meets. He loves lounging in the office with his Chihuahua buddy, Pinto, and his cat pal, Meatball, curled up on the chair right behind you, keeping you company while you work. At 13 years old, Romeo is in wonderful health for a dog his age! He's sweet, spry, walks beautifully on leash, appears to be potty trained, and is ready to be someone's loyal companion once again. Stevie is amazing!! He is a very sweet and friendly dog we rescued from the San Bernardino shelter in April. He gives hugs, loves to cuddle, enjoys belly rubs. and is very easy going. When we rescued him in April, Stevie had a very large bladder stone and needed surgery to remove it. He is doing great now and has fully recovered from his surgery. He will need to be on a prescription urinary diet for at least 6 months to keep his body healthy. Stevie is 5 years old and weighs 18 lbs. Taquito is the product of the recent LA fires when a community member found a pregnant dog running loose and kindly took her in. Shortly thereafter, she birth and we were able to take in Taquito and his two sisters, Chimi and Tajin. Taquito is the biggest goofball with a gentle demeanor, a gorgeous red and white coat, and the cutest little underbite. He loves to run around the yard and chase his sisters and other doggie friends around when he's not coming up to you for pets. Recently, we have taught Taquito to swim to he has loved making a dip in the pool part of his daily activities. A few weeks ago, we rescued Yvonne from the shelter. She had ended up there after her owner was deported. She is very cute and sweet, but she is pretty shy. She loves to cuddle and sit on your lap. She will follow you around. She makes little squeaks and noises or walks on her two back legs when she is happy. When you go to pick her up, she does a cute little jump to help you carry her. Yvonne does well with most other dogs and she really gets along with Pierogi. They play and wrestle and tire each other out and then they relax together. They are the same size and look like they could be related. Pierogi and Yvonne have become fast friends while in our care and we are hoping to find a home for them together.
