Burt
Male
8 years 3 months.
Burt
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Burt was rescued from the East Valley Shelter after being found as a stray. The shelter staff immediately noted some odd breathing habits and reached out to rescues to get him to a specialist. We had Burt see our Internal Medicine specialist and they found that he has slight paralysis in his larynx. Luckily, he is getting good airflow and they do not feel that he will need surgery. His breathing should be monitored for any signs of distress. We also found that he has degenerative valve disease, which unfortunately is very common in small breed dogs. He does not need medication at this time, but it should be monitored yearly. Overall, Burt is a very happy dog that loves every person and dog he meets. He has quickly become a staff favorite and a true pleasure to spend time with.

Fern
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Fern was rescued from the East Valley shelter after being surrendered by her owner with 6 other dogs. It has taken Fern a few weeks to begin opening up to us - she is cautious, but extremely sweet. She is very treat motivated and can be won over easily with a few goodies. Fern is scheduled for a spay procedure in the coming week and will then be ready for adoption!

Frankie
Male

Frankie
Visit me at St. Bonnie's Sanctuary
Frankie came to us from the Lancaster shelter and immediately showed us what a friendly dog he is. He enjoys squeak toys and going on walks. Frankie has alopecia, which has thinned out his hair on his back and the top of his head. He will need to wear clothes and put on sunscreen when he goes outside for long periods of time. This will ensure that Frankie doesn't get sunburned or other skin issues. He will be more sensitive to the cold seasons and would benefit from some fun and warm sweaters.

Genise
Visit me at St. Bonnie's Sanctuary
Sweet Genise came into our care when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She is friendly with people, cats, and other dogs. Her previous owner had some memory trouble and fed Genise more than she needed, so there is a little more of her to love. Even though she is older she still loves going on walks, which she could use to help drop those extra pounds. She likes squeak toys and carries them around in her mouth. If you are looking for a gentle soul as a companion then Genise just might be your gal!

Female

Gilly
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Gilly was rescued from the East Valley shelter as an owner surrender. Unfortunately, her previous home was no longer able to care for her and made the decision to re-home her. Luckily, she found her way into our care and is doing great after settling in. When we first met Gilly, she was so nervous that she would not go out for walks. We carried her out everyday to the grassy areas in the neighborhood and slowly but surely she began walking with confidence. Gilly is a fun girl that is ready to join her true forever home. She is good around the other dogs at our facility and has not shown any aggression towards our cats.

Henri
Male
3 years 4 months.
Henri
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Henri is our silly and spunky Poodle mix. He was rescued from the San Bernardino shelter with lacerations down his neck. We took him immediately to the emergency vet to get the necessary surgery to repair his wounds. He is such a sweet soul who is very loving once he gets to know you. He is nervous around strangers and needs whoever adopts him to be slow and patient when introducing him to new people. Once he bonds with a person he becomes very attached to them and can sometimes be possessive of "his" people. Due to this, he needs an experienced owner who is willing to work with a professional trainer to help him break the bad habits that come with this trait. Henri is a young boy who has a lot of energy and spirit and is patiently waiting for the right person to come along.

Koda
Male
14 years 3 months.
Koda
Visit me at St. Bonnie's Sanctuary
Koda is a senior dog who came to us from the Palmdale shelter very skittish. At first he was not very fond of being handled but after getting him the dental care that he desperately needed, he has become a much friendlier dog. Although Koda has no teeth he is still living life to the fullest. He now enjoys going on walks and has a more playful personality then before. Koda is still a little unsure of being picked up, but is more willing once he trusts someone. Little Koda is looking for a loving home he can relax in and enjoy the rest of his golden years.

Nova
Female
11 years 5 months.
Nova
Visit me at St. Bonnie's Sanctuary
Nova was turned into the Lancaster Shelter as a stray. It seems as though she had a home at one time, but was kept as an outside only dog. She does know basic commands and is a giant sweet heart. Staff here at St. Bonnie's call her a big baby because she enjoys being coddled. She loves the company of people, but does not care for other dogs. Nova's ideal home would be a single dog home where she was able to be inside and part of the family. Nova unfortunately has recently lost the use of her back leg. She lost some nerve connections and we are currently working with her in hopes she will make those necessary connections once more. We are currently walking her with a sling and she does have her good days where she needs little assistance but most days we are supporting most of her weight during walks. She does great in her wheel chair and zooms past us when on wheels. We are looking for an adopter with previous experience in this sort of issue. She is a sweet and snuggly girl ready for her true forever home. --- St. Bonnie's Sanctuary (Lange Foundation) is located in Canyon Country, CA. If you would like to meet any of our animals, please call us at (661) 251-5590 or email at st.bonnies@gmail.com. We adopt to families/people in the Southern California area only. Panda
Male
7 years 2 months.
Panda
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Poor Panda was left at the South LA shelter matted and dirty to wander the parking lot. He was taken in and lucky given a much needed hair cut. We then were able to bring him into our care and provide some needed TLC for his skin. We also noted he was blind and had our ophthalmologist take a look. They came to the conclusion that he had retinal degeneration and there was nothing more to be done. He will be blind life-long, but that doesn't seem to bother him too much. Panda's most favorite thing is a soft squeaky toy. He has SO much fun playing with them between spending time with the staff. Panda is ready to find his true forever home!

Visit me at St. Bonnie's Sanctuary
Lucy and Rikki came to our facility when their previous owner could no longer physically care for them. Their previous owner found them a few years ago living on the streets together and now they are inseparable. They are a little on the shy side at first but warm up after a few treats and belly rubs. Rikki and Lucy are used to living with cats and get along with dogs after a proper introduction. These ladies will be wonderful friends to those who give them time and care.

Swiffer
Male
10 years 6 months.
Swiffer
Visit me at Lange Foundation
Swiffer was originally rescued from the South LA shelter back in January 2014. He was quickly adopted and spent 6 years in a home. The family had a child and while they co-existed together for about 3 years, Swiffer had a difficult time adjusting to the toddler and unfortunately did bite the child. Since Swiffer has been with us he has been a total joy! He has some trust issues and will bark a lot initially when meeting a new person but he settles in fairly quickly. He would not do well in a home with young children who don't know when to give a dog space. Once Swiffer gets to know you he shows off his awesome and silly personality. He loves to go on long walks, cuddling on the couch and playing with his stuffed animals. He does well with most dogs as long as there is a proper introduction and he doesn't feel overwhelmed. He doesn't have an affinity for cats so it would be best for him to be adopted out into a cat-free home. Overall, Swiffer is a very wonderful companion, but just needs the right atmosphere to thrive!
